The Supervisor


bobvandenbosDr Bob van den Bos is a political scientist and former member of the Dutch Parliament (Upper and Lower Chambers) and the European Parliament. As a Dutch MP, he was spokesman for Foreign and European Affairs. In the European Parliament he was head of the D66 delegation and general rapporteur for Human Rights.

Prior to his political career, Bob van den Bos was staff member of the renowned Netherlands Institute for International Relations Clingendael from 1982 until 1994. He is now a respected lecturer and writer on (international) politics. He has written several books and many articles on politics and international relations. His best-known book ‘Miracle and Debacle’ (dissertation) deals with the Dutch decision making on the Political Union in the Treaty of Maastricht.

In May 2014 his new book ‘Sport and Politics, the struggle for glory, power and money’ (in Dutch) will be published in the Netherlands.
